Inês (she/her) is a creative entrepreneur and communications specialist in the arts and cultural sector, with relevant experience in public relations, content marketing and writing. She is the co-founder and director of diagonal dance, a creative agency providing communications services to the dance sector. In parallel, she collaborates in dance projects as choreographer, artistic director, performer and dance facilitator.
She holds a Bachelors degree in Communications (Journalism, PR and Multimedia) and a Postgraduate in Contemporary Dance, both from University of Porto, Portugal. In 2018, Inês moved to the UK to complete a Masters in Arts Management at Middlesex University, London. Since then, she has been working with multiple organisations such as: The Place London (Internship), BEEE Creative CIO (UK), Bianca Paige Smith (USA), Oh Lee Music (PT), IRIE! dance theatre (UK) and Eventual (FI), in the roles of communications and project management.
Aditionally, she is a dance writer and critic for the magazines Dance Arts Journal (UK), Gerador (PT) and Springback Magazine (EU). In 2022, she was selected to be part of Springback Academy from Aerowaves Europe.
Passionate about community engagement, diversity in the arts and the relationship between dance and writing, she combines all her passions in her daily work. Inês is based between Porto, London and Helsinki.

how a background in dance gave me the skills to join every workforce
A couple of months ago, I came across an article in Dance Magazine named 'Why Dancers' Skills Are More Valuable Than Ever'. It immediately resonated in my mind as I always go back to my dance background to be thankful for all the skills I have - most of them outside of the studio or the stage.
